Work to convey down the statue started on Thursday after residents complained concerning the fish.

One mentioned the fish had been “pornographic”, whereas others mentioned the cash spent on the statue might’ve been used elsewhere.

One social media person posted: “Folks in Kenitra (province) and Mehdia instructed authorities they need reforms within the metropolis. And authorities convey them these statues.

One other mentioned: “Pornographic fish. Folks in Kenitra requested for reforms, authorities [gave them this].”

Mehdia is in Kenitra province, however not within the metropolis of Kenitra.

Some livid social media customers complained to Kenitra metropolis officers, who responded on Fb.
