A TOP crime reporter is combating for all times after being shot in a suspected revenge hit.

Award-winning Dutch journalist Peter R de Vries is believed to have been focused by mobsters he had uncovered.

The 64-year-old was shot within the head in a road close to a big public sq. in Amsterdam on Tuesday night after a TV studio look close by.

He was critically sick in intensive care final evening.

Police arrested two suspects, a Pole, 35, and a 21-year-old Dutchman, after a motorway chase.

Amsterdam mayor Femke Halsema stated: “Peter R. de Vries is for all of us a nationwide hero, an unusually brave journalist, tirelessly in search of justice.
“At the moment, justice in our nation seems a great distance off. A brutal, cowardly crime has been dedicated.”

Dutch justice minister Ferd Grapperhaus fought again tears as he vowed to deliver the criminals to justice – and warned the mafia was changing into “extra violent and unscrupulous”.

He added: “We’re coping with fully unhinged individuals who, amongst different issues, arrange torture chambers.”
